THE MOUNTAIN LAB

WORKSHOP IV : PAINTING -  Paint your own picture in the scenery of the Swiss mountains!

FLORIAN BÜHLER AND NORA STEINER

Odoo CMS - a big picture

'' The picturesque scenery of the Engadine – famous valley in the Swiss mountains - with its enchanting forests, magnificent panorama and peaceful villages has inspired painters, sculptors, craftsmen, writers and poets for centuries. The world-famous artist from Grisons-Graubuenden, Giovanni Segantini, had fallen in love with the mountains of the Engadine. There is no one who succeeded in capturing the beauty of this scenery on canvas like him. The Engadine, also called the valley of light, is the perfect scenery for an adventure in painting. In this location we will introduce you to the technical basics of painting and offer you the possibility to create your own painting according to your desires. No previously acquired skills are needed, we will support you in creating your work of art. You are completely free to choose your own subject. Inspired by the surroundings you will have the opportunity to capture the beauty of the scenery in your painting, to stage your favourite gadget in an exciting still-life or to paint your self-portrait in the unique light of the mountains. In a fun way we will excercise visual perception and technical transposition. The main point is not precise reproduction but, above all, discovering and experimenting. We will give you an idea of the different genres of painting and you will have the possibility to experiment with paint, brush and canvas. We will show you the most important tricks and you will learn what role a coffee bag, hare skin or an egg can play in creating a painting. At the end of the course you will take home lots of beautiful memories plus your very own painting on canvas. ''
